EXCLUSIVE: SABC board tipped to cancel Guptas’ lucrative show
The SABC interim board is said to be eager to have the Gupta-owned The New Age/ANN7’s breakfast deal scrapped
The axe is set to fall on Gupta-owned The New Age/ANN7’s breakfast deal with the SABC. Business Day has reliably learnt that the SABC interim board is eager to have the deal scrapped as it moves to stop the rot at the public broadcaster following its decision to suspend acting CEO James Aguma and to discipline former chief operating officer Hlaudi Motsoeneng. Both executives are likely to be removed from the SABC. Business Day understands that the interim board is set to cancel dodgy deals the public broadcaster entered into, in particular with the Gupta-owned The New Age newspaper and ANN7 TV station. The loose arrangement allows the SABC to air the TNA Morning Live business breakfast briefing.
