Mandela Bay deputy mayor lays charge of corruption against two senior officials
26 April 2017 - 16:03
Nelson Mandela Bay deputy mayor Mongameli Bobani on Wednesday opened a case of corruption against acting city manager Johann Mettler and corporate services acting executive director Vuyo Zitumane, at the Humewood Police station. The action by Bobani came a day after mayor Athol Trollip said the municipality was due to investigate three contracts it believed to be irregular. The first contract is a media and communications tender awarded to Mohlaleng Media, which Trollip said was found to have become "uncapped". The municipality has already spent more than R20m on this contract.
