Communications Minister Faith Muthambi has confirmed that she will launch a legal challenge over the “irrational and unlawful” ad hoc committee report on the SABC. Muthambi is seeking a court order to interdict the report’s recommendations, specifically those concerning her, from being implemented while the matter is under review. The Star Newspaper reported on Friday that Muthambi had written to National Assembly speaker Baleka Mbete stating her intentions to challenge the report. She said Parliament’s ethics committee should not proceed with implementing any of the report’s recommendation made against her until the matter had been dealt with by the courts.  “I can confirm the ministry intends to take the ad hoc committee report for judicial review,” Muthambi’s spokesman, Mish Molakeng, said on Friday.
