EFF leader Julius Malema says the ANC has suspended the Constitution through the use of the military and the police to intimidate MPs in Parliament. Speaking shortly after being ejected from Parliament by parliamentary security at President Jacob Zuma’s state of the nation address on Thursday night, Malema said police were used to remove the party’s MPs from the House, even after a court ruling stipulated that they were not allowed to do so. He said EFF deputy president Floyd Shivambu saw the security detail getting out of police cars earlier in the day. "They are policemen … there is no separation of powers here … Baleka [National Assembly speaker Baleka Mbete] has collapsed Parliament into a department of Zuma’s administration," Malema said. Paramedics had to be called in to assist one EFF MP and Malema said all had sustained injuries.
