President Jacob Zuma has asked public servants and those serving in state-owned enterprises (SOEs) to respect Parliament and abide by its oversight requirements. "In this regard, the management and staff of government departments as well as board members, management and staff of SOEs and companies are all accountable to Parliament for the functions assigned to their ministers," Presidency spokesperson Bongani Ngqulunga said. This comes as the one-remaining SABC board member and chairperson, Mbulaheni Maguvhe, snubbed the ad-hoc committee looking into the crisis at the state broadcaster, citing the unavailability of documents in Braille. Maguvhe has tried to stop the inquiry into the SABC from going ahead.
