Storm warning for travellers planning flights from airports in Johannesburg
Travellers have been warned of delays at the OR Tambo International Airport due to severe storms expected in Johannesburg on Friday night. Parts of Johannesburg were hit hard this week by six deaths, flash floods‚ damaging or washing away cars‚ traffic jams‚ homes and shacks damaged and flight delays. Airlines such as Comair‚ which operates domestic British Airways’ domestic airlines and Kulula‚ have had delays since Wednesday afternoon due to heavy rain. "Storms experienced in Ekurhuleni over the last two days have affected all airlines and airport operations at OR Tambo International Airport," sid Comair spokeswoman Susan van der Ryst. "These disruptions unfortunately also have a rollover effect to the rest of our operations and customers may experience delays.
