PRESIDENT Jacob Zuma has told the UN that SA continues to give forcibly displaced persons the right to live wherever they like and the right to work‚ study and access social services.In his address at a high-level summit on refugees and migrants on Monday‚ he called on member states to do the same."Our common humanity requires that we respect each person’s human dignity in equal measure," he said. "No instance should enjoy more attention and concern than the other."Zuma told the gathering in the General Assembly hall that SA was "the largest single recipient of asylum seekers" in sub-Saharan Africa and "recognises that to adequately address the forcible displacement of people‚ we must address the root causes of this phenomenon"."Underdevelopment is a key driver of the displacement of people and in turn can lead to armed conflict‚" he said.
