FORMER National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) head Mxolisi Nxasana has called on President Jacob Zuma to "do the right thing" and dismiss Nomgcobo Jiba and Lawrence Mrwebi for bringing the NPA into disrepute.He said failure to do so would drag the NPA into a long and muddy legal process that would further tarnish the already tattered image of the prosecuting authority.The High Court in Pretoria ruled on Thursday that Jiba, the deputy national director of public prosecutions, and Lawrence Mrwebi, special director of public prosecutions, had brought the NPA and legal profession into disrepute by failing to prosecute former police crime intelligence head Richard Mdluli.Jiba was also roasted for acting improperly in the failed prosecution of KwaZulu-Natal head of the Hawks, major-general Johann Booysens.Jiba and Mrwebi were struck of the roll and disqualified from operating as advocates.
