UNION federation Cosatu has joined calls by allies the ANC and the South African Communist Party (SACP) for President Jacob Zuma to discipline Mineral Resources Minister Mosebenzi Zwane for "misrepresenting" the Cabinet.The move by Zwane on Friday, who according to the Presidency, represented his "personal" views as that of the Cabinet, has drawn criticism from the ANC as well as opposition parties. Zwane said in a statement on Thursday that the Cabinet had taken a decision to ask the President to establish a commission of inquiry into why the country’s major banks had closed the accounts of the politically connected Gupta family.Zwane’s spokesperson admitted in a radio interview on Friday that this was not a Cabinet decision, after a statement from the Cabinet was released, which did not contain that call.
