GAUTENG finance head Stuart Lumka has been fired for alleged financial misconduct after entering into numerous contracts without authorisation.Mr Lumka has been on special leave since May 2014 when an auditing firm found an irregular payment had been made.Mr Lumka signed off R48.8m to a company called Shimo IT Solutions‚ which had no business relationship with the provincial government.Government’s news agency said a disciplinary finding had been made that "he ignored not only legal advice but went against a prior collective decision that there be no further payment".The state attorney has been asked to weigh up criminal charges against Mr Lumka.Gauteng provincial government spokesman Thabo Masebe said: "We are determined to ensure clean government."RDM News Agency
