JSE slips and rand remains muted before US CPI report
US PPI data is scheduled for release on Thursday, while retail sales numbers will be announced on Friday

The JSE was marginally weaker on Wednesday morning, while the rand was little changed as investors awaited the latest US consumer inflation figures.
The country’s consumer price index (CPI) data, scheduled for release later today, will offer critical insight into its inflation landscape. Economists have forecast that the CPI will increase by 0.2% on a monthly basis, which would translate to a 2.6% 12-month rate.
