London — Markets saw a modest rebound in risk appetite on Thursday, as traders took a break from selling beaten-down stocks and pumping money into safe-haven bonds and the dollar.

The end the most turbulent month of 2019 so far was approaching and amid ongoing and fierce US-China trade tension, investors seemed content to square up some positions.
