BHP released its results in Australia before the Johannesburg bourse’s opening, and Shoprite and Imperial are likely to release their results shortly after 7am.BHP rose 1.36% to A$26.05 in Sydney on Tuesday morning after reporting a return to profit for the year to end-June, helping Australia’s S&P/ASX 200 index gain 0.32%.BHP declared a $0.43 dividend, triple the previous year’s $0.14. The world’s largest miner reported net profit of $5.89bn from the previous year’s $6.39bn loss. Analysts, however, had expected profit to be $6.73bn, maintaining pressure on the group to sell its US shale assets.BHP was among the companies that helped the JSE’s all share index rebound 0.26% on Monday by closing 1.08% higher at R231.46.Grocery chain Shoprite is scheduled to release its financial results for the 52 weeks to end July 2 on Tuesday.
