MAN Automotive SA’s premium used-vehicle division, MAN TopUsed, has brought an innovative transport solution to the commercial-vehicle market. The campaign is aimed mostly at distribution operations where customers need to acquire purpose-built, rigid chassis already fitted with the correct body, and immediately available off-the-shelf.

The latest offer applies to the TGMN 25.280 6x2 BLL chassis series of pre-owned trucks on sale. “Customers are able to choose from taut-liner, refrigerated volume vans, all-purpose drop-sides to specialised cattle body vehicle configurations,” says Gert Fourie, head of MAN TopUsed.

According to the company, there are many used-vehicle customers who seek quality second-hand vehicles which they can immediately deploy into service, especially into cyclical peak-demand operations or where the planned kilometre utilisations per year do not require the expense of a new vehicle.

This surplus stock is available nationally throughout MAN stockists. Elaborating further on this latest initiative, Thomas Share, MAN TopUsed’s purchasing manager said: “By offering a 2-year/160,000km warranty and comprehensive service plan on these used trucks, we able to give owners added peace of mind. We also have a rental option which has been well received by many of our customers.”

The nett payloads of the fleet in stock is between 12 tons and 16 tons. This truck series uses MAN D08 common rail diesel engines paired to TipMatic 12-speed transmission drivetrains.

Head of sales and after sales divisions, Eren Gunduz, said: “Through this initiative we believe we have completed the entire value circle.
