The finish line of the 10,000km Trans-Eurasian odyssey was finally reached and the celebrations begun in earnest for Team Peugeot Total and Team Kamaz Master last Saturday. Both teams have risen to the challenges set by their rivals and the harsh terrains of Russia, Kazakhstan and China to emerge victorious at the 2017 Silk Way Rally, which culminated in Xian, China. Cyril Despres (Peugeot) took the laurels in the car category, followed in second by Christian Laviell (Baicmotor) and Wei Han (Geely) in third. In the truck category it was Dimitry Sotnikov (Kamas) who emerged triumphant ahead of Anto Shiblov (Kamaz) in second and Ayrat Mardeev (Kamaz) in third spot.
