In case you missed it, there have been a raft of vehicle recall announcements over the past few days. First, Mazda weighed in with yet another Takata airbag recall in SA, totalling more than 19,000 vehicles built from 2003, including the Mazda2, Mazda6 and RX-8. The recall is part of a the latest global campaign to fix 2.7-million Takata equipped vehicles including those from Nissan and Ford. Ford SA says none of its vehicles is affected (at this stage), but Nissan SA says it will contact owners of Tiida and Livina models although it does not know how many are affected. Fiat Chrysler SA has not escaped the global recall of 1.5-million of its cars. In SA 1,951 Chrysler 300C models are under recall to fix faulty wiring that could lead to a fire, while a recall notice is out for 3,760 Dodge Journey models to fix faulty wiring that could cause the driver’s airbag to go off.
