There are two big problems with history. One is that the telling of it can be quite dreary. The second is that mainstream history was largely recorded by one distinct and dominant group, no matter which country it examined.

As author Otto English writes: “The dominant narrative of history has been dictated by the dominant people, and that means it has been written by white males, about white males, for white males.”..
