Honor Swinton Byrne and Tilda Swinton return to collaborate with director Joanna Hogg for the second instalment in her acclaimed semi-autobiographical drama. This time around, Julie (Byrne) must pick herself up after the end of her turbulent relationship with an older man — which formed the focus of the first film — to work through her difficult emotions and turn them into the material for her graduation film. As she embarks on a journey to discover her creative voice, Julie tries to separate the facts of her relationship from the lies, and reconcile that the things she thought she knew about her former lover prove to have been half-truths and falsifications. The results are cinematically inventive, emotionally provocative and unique, and prove Hogg to be one of modern British movies’ most exciting and talented voices.  ..
