A heartbreaking, two-part documentary with an unbelievable but true story at its centre. In 1974, teenage single mother Cathy Terkanian, unready for motherhood, was persuaded to give up her infant daughter for adoption. In 2010, Terkanian received an email asking if she would give a DNA sample to police to help them identify the mauled body of a woman, who they believed may have been that same daughter. Though the DNA proved not to match, the request sent Terkanian on a search for the daughter she had given up. She finds a trail of abuse, despair and tragedy that, were it not for her determination, would have remained unknown...
