For most of us baggage means "things that encumber one’s freedom, progress, development, or adaptability; intellectual baggage that keeps one from thinking clearly; neurotic conflicts from struggling with too much emotional baggage", as one online dictionary puts it with depressing accuracy.Baggage is all the emotional crap we carry with us from one relationship to the next and the next and so on, until we either dump the baggage or abandon hope at finding a relationship with someone with compatible baggage.
