Itac defends the way it manages import duties
No trade authority in the world has capacity to conduct regular reviews, says commission

In a detailed response to recent criticisms, the International Trade Administration Commission of SA (Itac) has firmly defended its approach to managing import duties and tariffs.
A recent investigation report by XA Global Trade Advisors, a consultancy house that specialises in international trade, revealed that 93% of the import duties paid from July 2023 to June 2024 were applied to tariff codes that have remained unchanged for more than 20 years. ..
