Economists expect producer inflation to continue trending downward for the remainder of the year

After last week’s release of consumer inflation data, Stats SA will publish the July producer price index (PPI) on Thursday.
Economists expect a slight slowdown in producer inflation for July. Lara Hodes, an economist at Investec, expects a modest 0.1% increase on a month-on-month basis, which would translate to 4.5% year on year, slightly below June’s print of 4.6%...
