Consumer inflation has decelerated, due mostly to the decrease in fuel prices

Inflation slowed to its lowest level in almost 16 years during May, as SA began to ease restrictions on the economy, moving into level 4 of the Covid-19 lockdown, when more goods and services became available.
Consumer inflation, measured by the consumer price index (CPI), slowed to 2.1%, its lowest level since September 2004, Stats SA data showed on Wednesday. ..
