SA’s national minimum wage should be R3,500 a month, according to recommendations by a panel of experts. The panel was set up by the National Economic Development and Labour Council (Nedlac) to determine the national minimum wage level after several deadlocks over the level. Addressing the media after the panel’s report was presented to Nedlac‚ Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa said labour‚ government and business would take the proposal to their constituencies to decide.
