PRINTING and manufacturing group Novus plans to complete in 2016 the installation of the "first digital web press" in SA, giving it access to new revenue streams. The company is consolidating its Digital Print Solutions, which it bought in May 2015, and Paarl Media."We are confident that the group’s strategy of unlocking new markets through this process will be successful," it said on Wednesday.Novus, which prints magazines, books, and newspapers, and manufactures tissues, reported a 9.6% increase in headline earnings per share to 139.9c in the year to March. Revenue fell to R4.17bn, from R4.26bn.Novus said the results were affected negatively by the losses incurred on the tissue and labels diversification projects."While volume decline in most traditional print market segments is anticipated to continue, growth markets in parts of Africa, such as the sub-Saharan African donor-funded educational and ballot markets, remain a focus," said CEO Keith Vroon.
