PRIVATELY owned data centre infrastructure provider Teraco will spend R500m to build a new 5,000m² data centre in Johannesburg as it expects more enterprises to adopt cloud computing services to store their content.The new data centre will be completed in 2017 and is set to be the biggest in southern Africa.The company recently raised R400m from Barclays Africa and has additional funding from its new investor, Permira, an international private equity firm, which will help Teraco increase capacity at its existing 4,000m² Johannesburg data centre. The existing centre also caters for clients on the continent."The expansion is largely driven by the enterprise moving to the cloud.
