Cashbuild battles to compete with cheap imports
Headline earnings per share fall 22% in the latest financial year amid tough trading conditions

Cashbuild CEO Werner de Jager says an influx of low-quality imports in recent years has weighed on the building materials retailer, with it reporting a big earnings slump in its latest annual results.
“In the past few years, we’ve seen an increase in independent competitors, with very low-quality, imported products coming into the country,” De Jager told Business Day after the release of its results on Wednesday. ..
