Cashbuild targets expansion despite Covid-19 hit
The company expects trading conditions to remain ‘extremely challenging’ due to the weakness of the economy

Cashbuild, SA’s largest retailer of building materials, is considering opening eight new stores by the end of June 2021, a move that could further increase its exposure to a consumer market grappling with job losses and a weak economy.
Cashbuild has been in expansionary mode recently to grow and defend its market share as rivals such as Massmart’s Builders Warehouse make inroads in the market, estimated by Stats SA to be worth about R200bn. ..
