Steinhoff International spent nearly R2bn of its precious cash resources on forensic auditors and advisers in financial 2018 even as its businesses struggled to access money to stay afloat.
The global retailer’s just released annual report for that year says cash also had to be found for Deloitte’s €11m (R179.3m) bill and a further €17m (R277.1m) for "other audit firms" used during 2018...
