Assore announced on Tuesday that Charles Walters will replace Chris Cory as CEO on July 1. Invicta announced on Monday that Walters had given notice that he would leave his post as CEO of that industrial holding company on January 31, but would remain available as a consultant until November 30. Assore said Walters would be joining it on April 1 as CEO designate and then replace Cory when he retires after 28 years with the base-metal miner on June 30. "Charles has had a long and successful career in mining and industry, and joins the Assore group of companies from the Invicta group, where he is currently the CEO," Assore chairman Desmond Sacco said. Invicta deputy chairman Arnold Goldstone will double as CEO from February 1, it said on Monday. Goldstone was the group’s CEO from April 2000 to April 2015. "The board would like to thank Charles Walters for his significant contribution to the group over the past ten years and wishes him well in his future endeavours," Invicta said.
