KOEBERG’s Unit 1 will be shut down for just over a month from Monday, Eskom has said, as part of routine refuelling and maintenance. The Koeberg nuclear power plant has two units and provides 1,800MW of power to the national grid. "The refuelling outage takes just over a month and the unit is expected back online towards the end of October," Eskom said on Sunday. Eskom said it would also perform other maintenance works on the plant during the outage. Reuters
