Home-builders council suspends four executives amid failed multimillion-rand SAP contract
The National Home Builders Registration Council denies action against the executives related to SAP contract
The National Home Builders Registration Council (NHBRC) has placed its acting CEO and three other executives on precautionary suspension. The state-owned agency falls under Human Settlements Minister Lindiwe Sisulu. Business Day was reliably informed that the action was taken due to a failed multimillion-rand SAP contract. However the council denied this, saying the step was due to management’s irregular appointment of two staff members and contravention of internal procedures for not taking action against an employee alleged to have stolen cellphones. The council is responsible for the protection of housing consumers from unscrupulous contractors and the regulation of the home-building industry.
