CONSUMERS withdrew more money in June than any other month so far in 2013, according to Spark ATM Systems, ascribing the increase to a public holiday in the month and the start of school holidays.The latest cash withdrawal figures by Spark, an independent ATM deployer, show the national average cash withdrawal value during June increased to R475.98 – the highest value this year and the second-highest since the R485.07 seen in December 2012."The high cash withdraw value is as a result of the June 16 Youth Day public holiday long weekend, coupled with the start of the midyear school holidays," Spark operations manager Ryan Tzamtzis said."Consumers tend to spend more on entertainment and travelling on long weekends, public and school holidays."The higher values withdrawn are, however, not an indication of higher disposable incomes, according to IHS Global Insight principal economist Ronel Oberholzer."According to the latest BankservAfrica disposable salary index, household disposable i...
