LOGISTICS group Santova expects to make significant progress on expanding and integrating its local operations into one unit to capitalise on operational efficiencies, it said on Wednesday as it announced its results for the six months to August.Santova will merge its South African logistics entities — Santova Logistics South Africa and Impson Logistics — into a single operational entity. Impson Logistics will acquire the assets, liabilities and staff of Santova Logistics South Africa.In the six months to August, Santova achieved basic earnings per share of 8.12c and headline earnings per share of 7.61c, an increase of 18.2% and 10.1%, respectively.The company achieved this despite trade volumes in South Africa being affected by the weakening of the rand, poor trading conditions in local and international markets and lower operating margins as a result of continued pressure from underpricing by competitors, it said.Santova’s half-year turnover was R80.3m, from R81.3m in the previous...
