The Intelligence Minister, David Mahlobo, made the following two statements:At a media briefing:"I happen to know him (Mcebo Dlamini). He has been to my house several times."Later in parliament:"The meeting never took place. Mcebo Dlamini has not been to my house."You can watch the lie being played out before your eyes: and ... There are very few democracies where a minister can utter such a bald-faced and blatant lie to parliament and get away with it.Now for the conspiracy theory. Why has Mcebo Dlamini been to David Mahlobo's house "several times"?Why has the man who directs South Africa's intelligence operations been in frequent secret contact with the leader of the campus uprsing? A less kind observer would begin to wonder who was fuelling the campus unrest and why ...
