Company reports 35% decline in diluted headline earnings per share ANTHRACITE miner Petmin expects the commissioning of a third wash plant and four mining pits to improve performance at the Somkhele mine, in KwaZulu-Natal, in the second half of its financial year, chairman Ian Cockerill said at the release of its interim results on Monday."By the end of this year we should be in a situation where all of our plants are operating well," he said.Petmin reported diluted headline earnings per share for the six months ended December of 5.22c, a 35% drop from the previous period’s 8.01c, and 14% less than the 6.07c diluted headline earnings of continuing operations.Petmin lost 15 days of production at its Somkhele anthracite mine during the wave of labour unrest that hit the mining industry in the second half of last year.It lost an additional 27 days due to unusually heavy rainfall in KwaZulu-Natal between November and December that prevented the delivery of 192,000 tons run-of-mine of co...
