BEE changes outlaw fronting: Zuma

President Jacob Zuma said the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act would be amended and it would criminalise fronting and other forms of empowerment misrepresentation.

Delivering his State of the Nation Address on Thursday Zuma said that the amendments would establish a statutory commission that would deal with non-compliance and circumvention.

“With regards to issues of disability, we have directed all government departments to ensure that we meet the target we set several years ago of having 2% of people employed in the Public Service to be disabled persons,” Zuma said.
