A Soweto-based jewellery designer clinched the Tsogo Sun Entrepreneur of the Year award on Thursday night. Nqobile Nkosi received R30,000 from Tsogo Sun, a business bursary from Tsheto Leadership Academy valued at R20,000, and a professional business image experience from tweak&style valued at R15,000. Candy Tothill, Tsogo Sun’s GM of corporate affairs said Nqobile would serve as an inspiring role model to other entrepreneurs, and set an example of what could be achieved when one persevered to overcome obstacles and challenges. Nqobile was one of five Tsogo Sun Entrepreneur of the Year Award finalists who ran businesses in a range of market sectors. The other finalists were Carol Senosi, owner of cleaning services business Lefa Cleaning Services in Gauteng; Lucille Cremen, who owns Cresco Tours in Gauteng; Zinzi Masina, owner of La Emme Guesthouse and Meisie Nkosi, owner of Bella Bonni Guesthouse, both situated in eMalahleni.
