Des van Rooyen withdraws court move to stop release of state capture report
Co-operative Governance and Traditional Affairs Minister Des van Rooyen has withdrawn his application to interdict former public protector Thuli Madonsela’s state capture report. The reason given in Van Rooyen’s notice to withdraw was that Mandonsela had stated that no findings had been made against him in the report. "The applicant (Van Rooyen) has received and accepted an undertaking from the respondent (Madonsela) that the ... report does not express a point of view or make any findings and /or recommendations that involve allegations concerning the applicant," Van Rooyen’s notice stated. It said that "no further purpose will be served by pursuing the above application". All parties agreed to bear their own costs.
