The City of Tshwane will in November discipline two of its officials implicated in the controversial R90m city hall project. The officials, who served in the office of previous mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa, had been notified of their pending disciplinary hearings, Tshwane mayor Solly Msimanga’s office said on Tuesday "The Tshwane City Hall upgrade project was tainted by corruption and fraud at the very highest levels and was forced through and managed directly by the previous mayor’s office. The people of Tshwane were ‘robbed’ of R90m in corruption and I am determined to see justice done," said Msimanga. Last week, Msimanga took members of the media on a tour of the failed renovation of the city hall, which was also meant to serve as the offices of the mayor and his staff. Visitors were greeted by unfinished work, which included walls with paint peeling from them, doors missing handles and a lift without brakes. Upstairs, a R60,000 table imported from Korea dominated the mayor’s board...
