But even if you don’t believe her conspiracy theory, there’s still cause for serious concern
How far can a conspiracy theory run in SA? Pretty far, it seems and that is not surprising. With a president who never misses an opportunity to ignore a problem, or to not explain what is in fact going on, and with ministers who don’t have a clue what is going on, the stars are aligned for perfect insanity. Now, the question is, has Lily Gosam gone mad? Lily who? I don’t know her and I apparently will never meet her. She is a creation of the wonderful Ray Hartley, former editor of the Times, the Sunday Times and, now, the online resurrection of the Rand Daily Mail. He will not say who she is. I get countless calls from people who assume I know her real name. I. Do. Not. Know. But here’s my guess. Lily may not even be a woman. English is not his or her first language. Too many wrong prepositions. But she sure can write a lot. In her latest appearance in the digital Rand Daily Mail, Lily is being as scary as possible.
