Agbiz lauds Gordhan for an encouraging assurance on reduction in budget deficit
The Agricultural Business Chamber (Agbiz) says it was encouraging to hear Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan’s assurance on Wednesday that fiscal consolidation would continue over the three-year rolling period and the budget deficit fall from 3.4% to 2.5% by 2019-20. It said Gordhan and his team had analysed the environment well to provide a medium-term budget policy statement that was credible, given the complex challenges facing the country, "The minister emphasised the need for inclusive growth many times, with which Agbiz fully concurs, as well as the need to work together to achieve our goals as a country," said CEO John Purchase.
