Chemicals group Rolfes reported on Thursday that operating profits in all four of its divisions rose in the September quarter from the year-earlier period. Operating profit in its water division, which provides purification and filtration products, were up 84.2% to R3.5m. Rolfes said this was due to restructuring initiatives undertaken since July 1. Its food division, which was acquired in October 2015, contributed the most — R13.9m. "The growth drivers include the larger national footprint due to the take-off in coastal regions established during the last financial year, rising food prices and increased staple demand," the company said in the operating update.
