Afrox has launched a R60m filling and engineering services hub in the Riverhorse Valley business estate in Durban North. The investment is a sign of confidence in the KwaZulu-Natal economy, Afrox’s general manager of operations, Jan Ntuli, said on Friday. "This modern 18,000m² site is designed to international standards, best practice and expertise to guarantee our gases and services are of the highest quality," Ntuli said. Operations are backed by the Linde Group, of which Afrox is a member. Ntuli said Afrox would now be able to meet the growing demands of large and small industry across the province as the hub would have a filling capacity of 22,000 cylinders a month. This was a 15% improvement from the old plant at the Durban harbour.
