The Department of Home Affairs is confident it can solve the eligibility issue over Kamohelo Mokotjo and enable him to play for Bafana Bafana against Guinea-Bissau on Saturday‚ writes Marc Strydom. Home Affairs spokesman Mayihlome Tshwete said the department was establishing the facts and what documentation Mokotjo had or needed to be sure of his South African citizenship ahead of Saturday’s friendly at Moses Mabhida Stadium. Among the issues were dual citizenship, an application for retention of South African citizenship and for reapplication for South African citizenship. Mokotjo received Dutch citizenship in 2016 that requires citizens to renounce their previous citizenship. "That’s one of the things we need to check and verify."
