People are becoming too relaxed, believing that they can say anything on social media, even when it is wrong, only to apologise later. Helen Zille meant what she posted on Twitter about colonialism — she even tried to justify it, telling her supporters that she does not see any problem with the history of SA. I refuse to accept apologies from people who make racist or ignorant comments and thereafter apologise. Yes, we are a democracy, but if we are being asked to forgive and forget, people must stop trying to justify the colonial era. Thabang SenonaVia e-mail
