Wow, what a week. I thought the tweet of the week came from EFF commander in chief Julius Malema, in which he screen-saved a list of news stories on the redoubtable TimesLive website. The list of stories ran like this: Tony Yengeni found guilty of drunk driving; Dlamini says sorry after ConCourt’s Sassa ruling; BREAKING: Hawks boss Ntlemeza’s appointment is invalid – court; and ANC’s top six order Lungisa to step down. Add to this list the furore around Western Cape Premier Helen Zille’s tin-eared tweet on colonialism and for us at Business Day, the dawn raid on Anglo American and the fund management aspect of the South African Social Security Agency (Sassa) debate. And while this was all happening, Joburg mayor Herman Mashaba fired the heads of 12 city functions and appointed new ones.And there was no respite at the weekend with the news that the chief justice’s office in Midrand had been robbed and 15 computers in the human resource unit were stolen.
