Not a day goes by without someone lamenting the dearth of leadership in SA. It seems that if we had such leadership, everything would fall into shape. But how would such a leader solve the myriad extremely complex and historical problems we face? It seems that further than leaders, we need ideas! Last month, I had the opportunity to join in a discussion on SA’s bid to host World Expo 2025. Before I was invited to the engagement, I had no idea what a world expo was. Having read up about it, it should come as no surprise that SA would want to host one of these, given our inclination for global spectacles.
