A retired dentist whose bright yellow car was written off by vandals for spoiling the view of a picture postcard village has bought a grey replacement to avoid being targeted again. The Telegraph reports that Peter Maddox’s beloved three-year-old Vauxhall Corsa was written off when it sustained £6,000 worth of damage after someone scratched "MOVE" onto the bonnet. Some of the windows of the banana-coloured car were also smashed in. The incident followed a row that erupted between Maddox and other villagers in 2015 after complaints from tourists that the car was "photobombing" their holiday snaps of picturesque Arlington Row in Bibury, Gloucestershire, where homes date back to the 14th century. The 84-year-old has again opted for a trusty Vauxhall Corsa, but in an effort to enjoy a peaceful retirement he went for a grey model this time.
