Limpopo Education MEC Ishmael Kgetjepe says his department will finish delivering stationery packs to schools in the province by the end of the week. This comes after the South African Human Rights Commission (SAHRC) demanded that Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga "provide a formal undertaking that all textbooks have been delivered by January 26". Union federation Cosatu had also demanded an apology from premier Stanley Mathabatha and Kgetjepe for what it described as the late delivery of teaching materials, along with the general malaise in the department. Speaking to the media at the basic education sector lekgotla on Monday‚ Kgetjepe said: "Indeed we are delivering stationery to schools in the province. At the weekend we were at 70%.
